Happy Chat Messaging App

Happy Chat is a personal Android messaging project inspired by WhatsApp and positioned as Simple, Reliable, and Private. The Chats tab shows a searchable message list with avatars, previews, timestamps, and live typing cues; Groups covers multi-member conversations; Status lets people post and view story-style updates in a dedicated viewer. Bottom navigation keeps Chats, Groups, and Status one tap away, with a clean light theme and a matching dark mode for night use. Under the hood, Firebase powers realtime delivery, presence, and sync so conversations feel immediate without a custom backend. I built the full client in Java and XML — lists, group chat threads, status flows, and the green brand shell — as a portfolio-grade messaging experience.
